wh_pl_showfirecursor 1

This enables a crosshair when using a bow. This makes the aiming significantly easier. If you have a bow equipped when you change this setting, you have to re-equip it to see the crosshair. Set the integer to 0 to disable the crosshair when firing the bow.

Modify motion blur mode:

r_MotionBlur 0

This option can be found in the Graphics settings. However, it can be changed manually. Set the integer to 0 to disable motion blur, set it to 1 for camera blur, and 2 for object blur.

Disable HUD:

g_showHUD 0

To disable HUD, set the integer to 0, to enable set it to 1.

Modify gravity:

p_gravity_z -13

This option is listed on the wiki, and it is accepted as a command in-game, but it doesn’t appear to do anything. It’s worth trying, if you’re curious. The default value is -13.

Disable compass:

wh_ui_showCompass 0

Use this to disable only the compass. Useful if you want a non-modded method of increasing realism.

Modify FOV:

cl_fov 60

This setting can be found in the Graphics settings, but it only goes up to 75. The default value is 60. I recommend 90-100 for maximum experience without a lot of model clipping or unintentional texture glitches.

Quit to desktop:

q

This command is just the letter q. I see little use for this, unless you need to quit without saving.

Modify draw distance:

e_ViewDistRatio 500

The default value for this is 500. This will adversly affect performance, be cautious when adjusting this.

Modify tree draw distance only:

e_ViewDistRatioVegetation 500

The default value for this is 500. Just like the previous setting, this will adversly affect performance, on a lesser scale than the previous, however.

Modify other plant draw distance:

e_MergedMeshesInstanceDist 20

This will affect your performance the least out of these three console commands, but it will still have an effect. The default value is 20.

Show time of day:

e_TimeOfDay

This shows the current time of day. (or night.)

Adjust model scale:

t_scale 1

This command adjusts the in-game model scale. Default value is 1, max value is 10. Appears to be somewhat buggy, be cautious if using.

Modify anti-aliasing mode:

r_antialiasingmode 0

Default value is 0, can be changed to 1 for SMAA 1x, 2 for SMAA 1TX, 3 for SMAA 2x. This will adversly affect performace. These options can also be found in the Advanced Graphics options.

Disable Health bar:

wh_ui_showHealthbar 0

Default value is 1. Set the integer to 0 to hide the health bar, set it to 1 to enable it.

Disable dialogue subtitles:

wh_dlg_chatbubbles 1

Default value is 1. This enables or disables the subtitles that appear above NPCs when walking around towns. Set the integer to 0 to hide the subtitles, set it to 1 to enable it.

Disable VSync:

r_vsync 0

Use this to disable VSync to potentially increase performance. It is important to note that disabling this will allow screen tearing to occur. Set the integer to 0 to disable VSync, and 1 to re-enable it.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a little rough around the edges, even after a massive day one patch. The developers have promised more future updates to fix a wide range of bugs, which is good news for fans. Still, there’s no promise patches will improve the game’s current sluggish optimization. If you’re a PC player, and you’re looking for way to improve performance, we’ve got a few tips here.

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you play as a commoner in the Holy Roman Empire — a simple blacksmith on a quest to avenge the death of your father, and the destruction of your hometown. It’s an open-world RPG in the vein of Skyrim, with none of the magic. It’s meant to be a hardcore representation of the middle ages. At the start of the game, you don’t even know how to read.

How To Improve PC Performance | Tweaks Guide

[NOTE: These tweaks may not work for you, but they should all be safe to test and attempt. If you’ve got tweaks of your own, or found something we missed, let us know in the comments section!]

Basic Tips

Before diving into the more complicated methods to squeeze extra life in your game, there are a few simple tweaks you can try.

  • Run the game in Fullscreen.
  • Set the game to match your native resolution.
  • Under Advanced Graphics Settings, don’t increase any settings above High.
    • The most taxing system performance settings are: Physics, Shadows, Textures, Vegetation Detail, and Vegetation Draw Distance.

Try lowering some or all of these settings first if your game is running poorly. Test them all out — you can also choose to show an FPS counter in Settings, making it easier to benchmark performance while playing around with the settings to see what’s best for you.

How To Fix FPS Drops in Cutscenes

Strangely, there is a bug in the current version of Kingdom Come that switches the game to borderless windowed mode instead of fullscreen. This is especially prevalent in cutscenes, and instantly causes huge FPS drops.

  • Press Alt+Enter when in a cutscene if the FPS has dropped to switch back to fullscreen.

Fullscreen offers a more stable experience all-around. Playing in windowed mode is not advised right now. You can change fullscreen in the normal Settings menu from the pause screen.

Disable VSYNC & Limit Framerate

Vsync is on by default, but it can be disabled in the config file. Likely, this feature will be patched in the future, but for now, you can disable it manually.

  • Find your Kingdom Come: Deliverance installation folder.
    • EX. C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonKingdomComeDeliverance
  • Create a .txt file and name it user.cfg
    • This will create a config file in the KingdomComeDeliverance folder.
  • Copy/paste r_vsync=0 into the file and save.
    • To limit framerate, add sys_maxfps=60 to the file. The number can be changed to any framerate you want.

Save the file and you’ll find vsync disabled in-game.

Improve RAM Usage

A similar problem occurred in Skyrim — the program just wasn’t using all the RAM your computer has available. To fix that, you’ll need to set the heapsize for the amount of RAM your computer has available in the Steam Launch Options.

  • Right-Click on Kingdom Come: Deliverance in your Steam Library and find ‘Set Launch Options‘. Copy/paste the heapsize command for the amount of RAM.
    • 4GB: “-heapsize 524288”
    • 8GB: “-heapsize 1048576”
    • 12GB: “-heapsize 1572864”
    • 16GB: “-heapsize 2097152”
    • 24GB: “-heapsize 3145728”
    • 32GB: “-heapsize 4194304”
    • 64GB: “-heapsize 8388608”

NVIDIA SLI Fix

Kingdom Come Deliverance Console Commands Graphics Windows 10

To improve compatibility with Nvidia SLI cards, use Nvidia Inspector. Download and install, and you can force SLI and overclocking onto programs that don’t naturally support this feature.

  • Set SLI Compatibility to 0x080040F5 (Ryse: Son of Rome, Evolve, Monster Hunter Online Benchmark, etc)

Try forcing NVIDIA Predefined number of GPUs to use on SLI rendering — make sure it is set to two. You should also set SLI mode in DirectX 10 to force AFR2.
